My hopes and thoughts for Apple in 2012

At the iPad 3 event in March, Tim Cook told us that there is much more we can expect from 2012.

My expectations are :

  1. The iPhone 5
This has been knocking around for ages, it was thought to be released last year but then came along the 4s. It's one of the most talked about non- released phones of all time. There have been rumors form all over the place and this is what I'm looking forward to.

photo of iphone 5

 2. The iPod Touch 5g
I have a feeling the new iPod will feature the same design as the iPhone 5.
There may be an inclusion of Siri, and almost defiantly Voice Dictation.

   3. iMac (2012)

I think we will see an updated iMac with a 21",24" and 27"  anti-reflective screen.
With support for Siri control, Running Mac OS Snow Leopard, An OLED  screen with an extremely high resolution and support for and additional 3 monitors.

  4. Updated Macbook Air and Macbook Pro's
Hopefully an updated line of Macbooks with a higher quality screen, Siri control, better CPU and airplay support. And hopefully available in Black and White.

  5. Mac Touch-Tablet
I, even though there is no proof for it, am wanting a macbook touch tablet. An iPad size tablet running Mac OS with a multi touch interface. HD Webcam and optical drive and the rest. It's unlikely to happen but that's what I really want.

Apple's iTV may launch in Autumn?

The rumors are that Apple are planning to release their own HDTV. This has been floating around for a while now and people are wondering what will it be like?

The size for the moment is still a mystery but some have been saying it will be 32", 37" and 42" screen. More stories that Jonathan Ive, Senior vice president of industrial design, already has a 50" iTV in his office.

It is a strong rumor that it will take out the remote completely and rely on Siri voice commands.

What do you think? Will it launch this year? What will it look like?

Google Nexus Tablet Leaked?

A picture emerged yesterday of what is said to be the Google Nexus Tablet.
How new these images are is unclear, it includes an Android Market shortcut, which was rebranded to Google Play about a month ago.
It shows a usb and sd card slot for extra memory for the device.
It is likely that it will be the first to come with the new Android OS, Jelly Bean or Key Lime Pie.
Asus is set to build this tablet with may be know as the 'Nexus Slate'. Asus won the right to produce if even after Samsung having built the previous Nexus phones and Motorola having been bought by Google. Bearing in mind Motorola had made a previous successful android tablet, The Motorola Xoom, which was the first to have Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).

Samsung Galaxy SIII leaked invite?

Leaked Galaxy S III press invite

The Galaxy SIII has to be the most talked about, un released phone at the current time.
No-one is sure what it will look like, but maybe that will change....

A supposed leaked invite to the press event, reveals the SIII in the picture. It seems to have a smooth design with a curved screen.

Soon after the leak surfaced, Eldar Murtazin, chief editor for Mobile - Review, Who claims to have already held the galaxy SIII, posted to twitter :
“My comment about this sgs3 pic….hmmm no comments :-) what do you think? Real of fake?”

Still, We won't know until the actual release so all we have to do is wait and see.

'The New iPad' Review

So it's almost been a month since 'The New iPad' was announced and I picked it up on launch day, March 16th, in the form of the White 16gb WiFi model.

From the moment I turned it on, I have been very impressed with the overall performance. There are people who review all these product's and say they are amazing just to live up to the hype of Apple and their hold over the tech industry. But I am seriously amazed by the way they have managed to improve on a product that they created the market for, only 2 years before, and have made it drastically better.

First off, The screen.
The screen is what Apple call the Retina display. The resolution is 2048 by 1536, which has over 1 million extra pixel than what we call high definition (HD) TV's.  This is double the resolution of it's predecessor, The iPad 2.

The New iPad is slightly thicker and hevier  than the iPad 2, But only to fit in all of the improvements.
For instance, many people were expecting a quad-core A6 proccesor, but they came up with a modified dual-core A5 proccessor call The A5X chip. But that does have quad-core graphics at least.

The new iPad also features 4G LTE, but I went for WIFI, due to the lack of 4G in the UK. It offers amazing speeds to stream, download, upload, send and browse content from whereever you are.

They have upgraded the iSight camera ( Rear Facing Camera ) to a 5 mega pixel sensor. This improves from the previous models 0.7 mega pixel camera.

It also offeres up Voice Dictation. This is a much easier and quicker way to type. All you do is find the microphone on the keyboard, tap it, then talk and the ipad does the rest.

Take a look at the youtube channel for more on the new iPad.

Samsung Galaxy SIII

So Samsung have stuck to their word and not released the new phone in March, But now one week into April, We must wonder when it will be released? According to Samsung China's President, It shall be released this month. There have been many rumors about it's screen. It has been most commonly thought that it will have a 4.65" Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Samsung have been expected to improve on the display of the SII, which was a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus screen. And with a 4.65" SUPER AMOLED PLUS display which is already in the Galaxy SII HD and the Galaxy Nexus. So many people will be dissapointed if it's not featured in the SIII.

iPhone 5 with 4.6" screen?

Apple’s next generation iPhone may sport a 4.6-inch display, more than an inch bigger than the current iPhone 4S’s screen, according to a report by the South Korea media outlet Maeil Business Newspaper. The story was cited by Reuters on Wednesday evening. Reportedly, Apple has already placed orders for the larger screen. Unfortunately little else is known about the device, but the news outlet’s source said the phone could ship closer to the second quarter. However, Apple announced the iPhone 4S last October so it’s possible the announcement could fall around that time frame. We’ll keep you updated if we hear more.
